Where are you based at the moment (who do you work for)?
I am based in Gaborone, and work for BLUETAPE (pty) ltd.
BLUETAPE is a construction company that also specializes in Concrete waterproofing through crystalline technology.

2008
What path did you follow before ending up with your current company?
I registered a Brickyard initially in Francistown financed by The Youth Fund, after struggling to get a job because I was over qualified and without “experience”. Construction management in Botswana was a qualification diploma holders, after 5plus years of experience pursued much later in their career path. After operating the brickyard for a year I closed due to theft and fierce competitors.
In 2012, I relocated to Gaborone where I worked for a Real Estate company as a property development consultant and property manager, estate agent for a year then moved to a construction company for 6months where I was promised shares that when they didn’t materialize I then started lecturing in the Department of Real Estate for 2years before leaving and running my own company BLUETAPE in 2016.
What is your current position and what does the role entail?
I work as a Projects Director, which main role is to oversee all projects to ensure quality and timely completion within the project budget.
What advice would you give a current construction management student?
Work hard and look for opportunities in the whole value chain of construction. Aspire through your diligence to shape construction policies and industry, at national and international level.

What are your plans for the next 5 to 10 years?
Manufacturing plant of construction products(will reveal actual products just before opening), construction training instiute; writing and publishing construction books.
