Where are you based at the moment (who do you work for)?

Currently working at Turner & Townsend in the Cape Town office.

In what year did you complete your honours degree?

2017

What path did you follow before ending up with your current company?

My career began with the SARS Graduate Programme, in their Corporate Real Estate Division as a graduate trainee. Thereafter I was a Candidate Construction Project Manager at the Eastern Cape Department of Public Works. These initial years of training and development led me to my current role at Turner & Townsend.

What is your current position and what does the role entail?

Currently a registered Project Manager in a PMO at Stellenbosch University, in their Facilities Management (FM) division. My role entails the management of multidisciplinary project teams, for the execution of the University’s infrastructure upgrade projects.

What advice would you give a current construction management student?

You don’t need to be extraordinary to be successful in life, you need to be consistent - even with the mundane stuff.

What was your favourite module?

Should have been Professional Practice! KES continues to prove itself as an important module within the FM space.

Who was your favourite lecturer?

This changes over the seasons, currently it’s Katharina Crafford.

What are your plans for the next 5 to 10 years?

Continue to create a loving environment for my family and establish myself within the Turner & Townsend business.
