The Department of Construction Management is proud to advise that Professor Fidelis Emuze, a Research Associate in our Department', has been appointed as the new 'Editor in Chief: Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) – Management, Procurement and Law'.

Professor Emuze has contributed to several ICE journals during his academic career. Furthermore, this appointment constitutes recognition of his editorial skills honed during his academic career, courtesy of, among other, books, and many conferences. Professor Emuze is a Professor, and Head, Department of Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology, Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa.  

Lean construction, health, safety, and sustainability constitute the primary research interest of Prof Emuze, who is a National Research Foundation (NRF) C rated researcher that has published over 250 research outputs and received over 25 awards and recognitions. Prof Emuze is the editor of Value and Waste in Lean Construction, Valuing People in Construction, and co-editor of Construction Health and Safety in Developing Countries. Prof Emuze co-authored Moving the Construction Safety Climate Forward in Developing Countries, Unpacking the Decent Work Agenda in Construction Operations for Developing Countries and authored Construction Safety Pocketbook for South Africa. With diplomas and degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Higher Education, Prof Emuze proposed and led the development of 9 accredited university qualifications in South Africa.

 

Prof Emuze is the International Coordinator of CIB W123 – People in Construction Working Commission.
